Thinking about staying with Boatsheds on the Bay but have a few questions you'd like answers to before you book? Have a look through our most frequently asked guest questions and you might find what you're looking for. Still don't see the answers you need? Don't hesitate to contact us directly via our contact form and we'll get back to you straight away.
Q: How many total guests can Boatsheds on the Bay's units accommodate?
A: Altogether, our five individual units (4x boatsheds with 2 guests max, 1x apartment with 4 guests max) can sleep 12 people.
Q: I would like to book multiple boatsheds at the same time. How do I do this?
A: Currently, our website is limited to only allow one unit to be reserved per booking form submitted. If you would like to reserve multiple units for the travellers in your group (i.e. 2x boatsheds or 1x boatshed and the apartment, etc), you will need to submit separate booking forms, one for each unit. We apologise for any confusion this may cause and hope to remedy this limitation in the future.
Q: I have entered my desired dates into your Availability calendar but get given an error!
A: When entering dates into our booking calendar, nights that do not have sufficient room availability will return the following message: 'An error occurred. Please try again later or contact us directly to make a booking.' We are either entirely booked out for one or more of the nights you entered or we cannot accommodate the number of guests you wished to book. Our Availability calendar will block out any fully-booked dates by showing them as grey with a line through.
Q: Do you have a reception office? Where is it?
A: Boatsheds on the Bay is run via self check-in and self check-out. We do not have a dedicated reception area/office. As of 2.00pm on your arrival date, you are more than welcome to see yourself into your unit - it should be all ready to go! Just be sure to check you have the right unit number. Checking-out is even easier. Just grab your things, take a few last minute photos, and leave at your leisure any time before 10.00am. No need to contact us.
Q: Do you allow early check-ins / late check-outs?
A: Unfortunately, due to the limited nature of our boutique accommodation and our desire for every room to be in tip top shape for every guest, we cannot accommodate early check-ins or late check-outs at this time. Our firm check-in time is 2.00pm and check-out is no later than 10.00am. Adhering to these times ensures your room is cleaned thoroughly and ready for the arrival of yourself or the guests after you. That said, you are more than welcome to pull up a lounge chair and enjoy our grassy communal area while you wait!
Q: Can I drop my bags prior to check-in?
A: Of course! If you arrive to the property before 2pm and wish to drop your luggage at your unit, you are more than welcome to do so. Make your way to your booked boatshed or apartment and drop your bags just outside the door. Our on-site staff will be sure they are safe and sound for when you get back to check-in.
Q: Can children/infants stay at Boatsheds on the Bay?
A: For the comfort of all guests, we only allow children and infants as part of bookings in the Starfish Apartment. Children and infants are not permitted to be booked into the boatshed cabins. The Starfish Apartment is larger and can easily accommodate the needs of a family with children, whereas the boatshed cabins are not set up for young ones. If required, a cot can be arranged in the apartment.
Q: Where can I park my car, rental scooter/bike, etc?
A: One car park, per unit, is available on-site free of charge. There is ample space to store bikes and scooters near your unit, as well.
Q: I'm staying for my business/employment. Can I get a GST receipt/invoice?
A: Please let us know if you require a GST invoice for your business by sending us a message with your relevant business details, including business name and email address you'd prefer the document to be sent to. We will send this to you after your checkout date to ensure no further charges have been levied against your account (i.e. property damage).
Q: I have a small, well-trained dog. Can I bring it with me?
A: For the comfort of all guests and safety of wild birdlife that frequent our coastal property, we do not allow dogs.
